What Do You Enjoy Most About Your Role

As this is my first job in the industry, I am grateful for the knowledge that this role has given me and love how varied my workload is day to day. I value the support and passing on of knowledge that my colleagues are so willing to provide.

Interests Outside of Work

I love music and can often be found playing my piano to destress. I’m currently working on my application to Mastermind with the specialist subject “Dinosaurs” as a byproduct of having a 3-year-old son!

Louise Newland

Team Support

Louise joined Pi in July 2021 and provides dedicated support to four of Pi’s independent trustees delivering a wide range of services and her responsibilities include diary and general scheme management duties.  Louise frequently acts as the principal liaison between the Trustees and external advisers, including actuaries, auditors, legal advisers, and administrators. This includes managing the timeline for completion of key scheme documents such as the annual Report and Accounts and Scheme Return submissions.  She also undertakes the initial review of these documents, prior to Trustee approval.  For two schemes, Louise provides more of a secretarial role and is responsible for drafting minutes, preparing agendas, assembling meeting packs, and coordinating trustee meetings.  She also provides ongoing support to one of Pi’s lead scheme secretaries on one of our larger schemes.  This includes overseeing and maintaining the scheme budget, preparing first drafts of documents such as the Member Nominated Director election communications and contributing to a range of governance projects, particularly in the lead up to buy-out.  Louise is recognised for her highly collaborative and engaging approach.  Her attention to detail and proactive style makes her an integral part of the Pi team.

Prior to joining Pi, Louise worked for a manufacturing organisation where her role included contract management and customer relations which has enabled her to build strong working relationships with Trustees and advisers.
