Pension Trustee Services

Trusted Pension Trustee Services for UK Pension Schemes

Here at Pi Partnership, we take pride in delivering pension trustee services to ensure the effective strategic delivery of objectives, governance, and streamlined stakeholder management of UK pension schemes. Thanks to our two and a half decades of industry experience, our team of independent trustees can support both Defined Benefit (DB) and Defined Contribution (DC) schemes, delivering scheme objectives, navigating regulatory complexity and promoting member security.

Whether acting as a sole trustee, co-trustee, or Chair of Trustee, the team here at Pi Partnership provide professional, unbiased, and strategic guidance tailored to each scheme’s unique requirements. Our mission is to ensure that schemes meet their long-term objectives while also mitigating risk and enhancing operational efficiency.

What are Pension Trustee Services?

Pension trustee services involve an experienced individual who is appointed to a pension scheme’s trustee board. They may add specialist knowledge due to having backgrounds in pensions law, investment, actuarial or pension management.

Appointing a pension trustee can be particularly valuable for schemes facing complex challenges such as conflicts of interest, succession planning, scheme funding discussions or strategic decisions like running on, moving to consolidators, buy-ins, buyouts, and distributions of surplus. If you have any concerns regarding any of these aspects, please speak with our team to find out how Pi Partnership can assist you.

Key Benefits of Pension Trustee Services

Strong Governance & Regulatory Oversight

Pension trustee services provide leadership when it comes to ensuring compliance with The Pensions Regulator (TPR) guidelines. Our team ensures governance processes are clear and auditable. As these guidelines get reviewed and new updates come out, our team stays ahead to implement any changes as soon as possible.

Unbiased, Experienced Decision-Making

Pension trustees are independent of the employer and any internal stakeholders. This means that all decisions are made objectively and in the best interests of scheme members, offering only the most authentic and reliable advice and guidance.

In-Depth Risk Management

We help trustees understand, assess, and mitigate risk across investment, funding, and operational areas. This proactive approach strengthens scheme resilience and member outcomes.

Long-Term Strategic Planning

We help shape long-term strategies, whether guiding a scheme towards an endgame solution, achieving full funding, or preparing for consolidation or de-risking. Whatever you’re looking towards, our professional trustees can help and advise on how to get there.
